I picked this up for Halloween as an impulse buy. I do like it because it looks very realistic but there are some cons. First, this is a rubber form fitting mask and you will sweat profusely in it. There are no nostrils cut in the nose piece, and no holes for your ears. The ears weren’t a deal breaker and sounds were muffled but I was able to hear. The nose was rough. I made a quick mod by heating a small set of needle nose pliers with a lighter and poking nose holes. This helped a lot but I made small holes (maybe 1/4″ diameter) to maintain the integrity and not to show through and breathing was still impeded through the nose (walking around with your mouth open as Batman is a no no ;)I did get many comments that I looked very realistic trick or treating with the kids, but remember this was outside at night so take that for what its worth.I also have a small complaint about the shield/emblem. This sits too high on the chest for my liking and as you turn in different angles the shield moves with you. A Batman tshirt pulled over this might fix it but I didn’t realize it until looking at pics later.Overall, this is a steal at the normal price on here. I think the material might be prone to tearing if you aren’t careful putting on and off, but take care of it and I’m sure it’ll last for a long time.Even with the cons listed, I am happy with my purchase and would buy again.

First off, I will say the material is definitely good and solid. It will fit your needs for a 1989 batman halloween costume and any minor flaws will be hard to see in a darker party atmosphere. I was slightly disappointed by the velcro opening in the back of the mask, but to be honest, the fit is so tight, it is needed without ripping out your hair in the process. Speaking of hair, here comes my major complaint. This item was obviously used prior to my receiving it. How might you ask do I know this? Upon opening the clear plastic bag it was packed in, I noticed many long hairs stuck in the velcro. At first I thought it was some type of material like thread or fraying velcro, but seeing how it was reddish brown and some were as long as 6 inches, I confirmed it was definitely hair upon closer inspection. This is the second item I have received from the Amazon site that stated the product was new, but contained an abundance of human hair. I understand that this is the seller’s fault, but come on Amazon, why aren’t you keeping an eye on these seller’s for quality control? The only other complaints I have is the mask (at least the one I received) was folded during packaging in a way that bent the left eye piece near the nose which causes it to press up towards your eye. This might not be an issue to some, but since it is a tight fit, it continuously presses again your eyelashes which is annoying. However, it is a costume piece, so no big issue here. The other issues it the yellow paint around the batman symbol. It is very poor with numerous black spaces, but I feel it will be easy to touch up. My main issue is finding the hair when this product is supposedly mint from the factory. Shame on the seller for selling a used product, even if it is made well.Updated:Amazon did a great job at handling the hair issue. It is a shame Amazon had to take the hit for it to cover for the Seller’s problems, but that only makes me respect Amazon Costumer Service that much more. I really only wanted the Seller to replace it, but Amazon took responsibility and handled it.In regards to the mask. Please understand that this is a tight fit that would best fit teens or smaller adults. The mask is so small that after test fitting it twice, the back started to split above the velcro seal. As mentioned prior, it is a solid material, it is just very tight which could create issues later.

I am a huge fan of the Tim Burton Batman movies so when I decided to finally assemble my own Batman costume for a Halloween show that my Band was playing I looked online to find a cowl. I didn’t want something cheap looking or some crappy hard plastic face mask thing, I wanted a full head cowl. In the pictures this one looks fantastic. It’s inexpensive but looks good and is a full head cowl. Baring spending a fortune on ebay for a custom cowl my options seemed limited to this and the “Dark Knight” style cowl. So just to be sure I ordered both anyway(still cheaper than a custom one).Although I had read the reviews about this being small I figured maybe that was just some really fat guy complaining just for the sake of it, but boy was I wrong. I am a well built 5’11” 180lb male with a 23inch circumference head, and this thing couldn’t even get past my nose without completely crushing my head. I got it on for what was probably 2 seconds before my face started turning bright red and I couldn’t breathe. Literally a death trap. I barely got it off. What upsets me about this the most is that this thing looks great. It is a fantastic sculpt and is made of thick rubber, not some flimsy crap. The bat logo kind of sucks but I didn’t really care about that anyway. The point is whatever adult they got to sculpt this thing off of must have been a little person or a pencil head or something. I would imagine this would fit an 8 year old fine, but not a fully grown adult male.So buyer beware. The reviews are dead on. Unless your head is like 20inches around this will not fit. Luckily I also ordered the “Dark Knight” style cowl also. It fits well but the sculpt is a little lacking. It really is a shame that this one can’t fit an adult. Change the description to Child’s Mask please! It’s on it’s way back to amazon as I type this.
