   I bought this outfit for my daughter (she’s 8 )for Christmas and she loves it,she said. It’s really a dress but the tail part does the job in convincing her she can swim on the sitting room carpet and leaves her feet free to walk on land when she has too!It’s fairly well made although she did manage to detach the net parts from the sleeves in about 10 minutes but they did have elastic on so we just stretched them over her arms,It’s shimmery and shiny and If your aged between 5 and 9 it’s perfect for being a mermaid it is good value for the money and has been worn a lot over these past few weeks.

   My daughter wanted to dress up as a mermaid for Halloween ( how scary!) so of course I couldn’t find a costume apart from amazon! She picked this one. Thankfully as usual quick delivery from amazon so it has arrived on time. My daughter loves it. It’s grand, arm material isn’t good but I’d say after Halloween ill be cutting it off and putting outfit in dressing up box. It doesn’t matter about arm material cos the outfit still has shoulders so it will still beable to be used. As for the tail it’s a bit annoying for my daughter. She is a tall 5 and its still very long. That’s her only prob with it but she will soon be tall enough that the tail will sit perfectly!

   My granddaughter loves dressing up and she is always pretending to be a mermaid. Purchased this item, arrived within the time frame given. Ordered the size 5-7 years (although she is only a small 4year old) but the arm hole appears to be so small, I don’t think it will fit. A 6 month baby would have problems trying to get their arm through. There is no room what so ever for any movement. This is so disappointing as it was going to be for xmas. As I am no good with the old needle and thread, I will have to find someone who can get it sorted, or cut down the side seam from the arm to make it bigger. The sizing of the armhole is completely out of proportion to the overall length.

   I bought this for my 6 1/2 year old.She is average height and build for her age.This outfit was WAY too long-would be more suited for an extremely tall and skinny 10 year old.I actually ordered the toddler size to see if it was any shorter,which it wan’t-just tighter around the chest,so i sent it back and adjusted the original outfit.I had to cut off the tail section and re-sew it on several inches up so we lost some of the tail design.The wrist straps were extremely tight,so i had to undo some of the stitching so my daughter could wear them.After all that adjusting,my daughter was very happy with it and wore it to a party.I picked her up 2 hours later to find a very large tear in the flimsy fabric.

   Great little dress but not sure if it’ll wash well as perhaps a little flimsy. Age 1-2 fitted my petite 3 year old absolutely perfectly so very lucky there. The dress is a little tricky to walk in and has been bought as a costume for an underwater themed party so I will probably bring spare clothes for when it starts to hinder play.

   Bought this for my 4 year old daughter she absolutely loves this costume. She even wants to wear it to bed. The only thing is that the tail part of the costume is on the front which makes it very difficult for her to walk in the costume especially when she wants to wear it all the time.

   Although my niece spells her name Ruby not Rubie I decided to go with this product anyway. She’s only 4 so is fairly easy to impress with stuff like mermaids and whatnot, and this was a big hit. Hopefully when she gets through this stage we’ll be able to discuss interesting stuff like music, literature, politics etc, but for now I’m buying her affection with dressing up clothes. It seems to be working, but, little tip for any other uncles out there: I’ve realised that when playing games it’s better to let the kid win, even if you’re actually much better at the game than they are. They don’t tend to be very gracious in defeat.

   Bought for my granddaughter & she was so excited to open it. It’s extremely cheaply constructed & is most definitely not worth the money. In the bin after two days.
