J. D. Gregson –
Was dressing up for a Quiz night – we had to dress up as a character from our specialist subject and mine was Lord of the Rings, being a woman I thought people would expect me to be Galadrial or Arwen so I surprised them with the Wig and Beard, I thought it was brilliant for the money and certainly did the job I wanted it to do. Still have it in the cupboard should I decide to become an old wizard again. It was a bit itchy – but what else do you expect.

These will serve their purpose (World Book Day) – as other reviewers have mentioned, it doesn’t look as wonderful as the photo, the wig in particular is difficult to put on and the hair is not thick enough to conceal the mesh cap it’s attached to. They look ok on my daughter as a dressing up costume though and weren’t very expensive. However, I do have one or two negative points to make: firstly, we could have done with some instructions as the wig has a couple of elastic pieces with clips attached, and a couple of loops which they might be supposed to go into, but we can’t work out how they go together. I assume they’re intended to make the wig secure to the head but we may just have to use normal hair clips. Secondly I don’t think the wig is brand new – there are small marks around the edge of the mesh cap which look like make-up so I believe the item has been worn and returned. However, for dressing up (and a relatively low price) we’ve decided it’s worth keeping, in a similar way to wearing a previously-worn stage costume – I’d have been more bothered about the beard but that is unmarked. It does seem that this supplier is not the most rigorous in checking returns, though, so bear in mind when you purchase.

I bought this for my son (10) to dress up as Albus Dumbledore. It was very very long but this added to the look. The wig was a good fit and was adjustable so I was able to tighten it to fit a 10yr old. The beard did not fit all that well even on me, and the moustache part did not divide in the middle as in the picture, but kind of curved out from the face to allow room to talk. All in all I was happy with this purchase and it did the job nicely.

great dress up product, at first i didn’t realize the beard would stay on my upper lip if i had one of the elastics over my head rather than both round the back, now i know!! lots of hair loss (from the Wig not your head) per wearing and the back of the head seems to be a lot balder than the rest of the hair (can see the cap that goes over your head) but if your wearing a hat with it i doubt anyone would notice.Needs instructions for 5 star but still a great accessory.

I need a simple costume for a granddaughter’s seventh birthday party, and it must be for a Harry Potter themed event. I’m cast as Dumbledore: this wig and beard are just the job. Only one thing stops it being five star: it is rather unpleasant to wear. Wisps of whiskers get in the mouth and nose; it is hot; the beard tends to slip just a bit. Otherwise: just the job. Delivered on time, in good order, fair price.

Ordered for a Harry Potter fancy dress, looked more like Gandalf, but at least i’d made the effort! The quality isn’t the best, but what do you expect for the price. The mouth hole isn’t really big enough, but no major complaints. Can double up as a Father Christmas beard in December to make a bit of money on the side, it’ll have paid for itself in no time!

Good value for money and comfort sadly the colour varied from the colour picturedI requested grey but sadly it was more blonde if anything.

Strands of the hair come out fairly easily. If my son is careful he will get through this Halloween but doubt it will be good enough for next year.
